I have a soft spot for neo-classical design. The tried and the true blue. As far back as adolescence (hello 1980s), I have long loved the look of classic Wedgewood Jasperware. English born, it’s been around for a few hundred years. There’s a lot of mileage on these beauties (many still being produced, and there are imitators), but they never age, nor are they ever less lovely today than they were yesterday. Even if the New York Times has called them “stodgy sweet”, they still sing to me! Jasperware is the very definition of a classic, in my book. Who cares if buttoned up blue isn’t everybody’s cup of tea?
Today post is a picture poetry salute to lovely weddings inspired by Wedgwood’s chalky/creamy blue Jasperware palette and white relief overlay details. I hope to illustrate just how beautiful and versatile the Jasperware influence really is, even today. Because it truly is timeless.
In the mix? Plenty of cameos. I cannot resist cameos.
Enjoy!
